Many of you may have received an email from the state regarding the removal of bilingual pay. NPU ADVISES YOU NOT TO SIGN THIS PAPERWORK UNLESS GIVEN A DIRECT ORDER FROM YOUR SUPERVISOR. NPU has already filed a grievance on behalf of all members. We sat down with the state and attempted to resolve the grievance with a mediator; unfortunately, the state was unwilling to provide even a counter proposal to resolve this. What this means is NPU and our team of lawyers will be going to arbitration where a decision will be made. This will take time just as anything usually does. We need to compile a list of members who are being denied their bilingual pay. Please reach out to James Mortimore at jmortimore@nvpolice.org if you have been denied bilingual pay at any point since the new contract came out.
Another quick update regarding the personal leave day grievance filed by NPU earlier this year. More of the same as the state offered zero resolutions and we will be going to arbitration the same time as bilingual pay. We will keep you posted as we work on these grievances.
